Private lessons for individual adults, children and teens, as well as paired lessons for spouses, siblings and parent/child for Whitehouse Station NJ!
Whitehouse Station, also spelled White House Station, is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Readington Township, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. At the 2010 United States Census, the CDP’s population was 2,089.[11] Whitehouse Station takes its name from Whitehouse and Abraham Van Horne’s 18th century tavern.
New Jersey Transit offers service on the Raritan Valley Line at White House Station.
The area, which is now served only by New Jersey Transit’s Raritan Valley Line, used to be a railroad junction, serving as the endpoint of the ill-fated Rockaway Valley Railroad, which ceased operation in 1913. Whitehouse Station was home to the global headquarters of pharmaceutical giant Merck, which was housed in the modernist Merck Headquarters Building. Merck has now shifted its base of operations to Kenilworth.
If you are in the Whitehouse Station area and interested in learning to play guitar (or learning to play better) I’m here to help!
If you play a bit already, you’re probably interested in playing a particular song or songs. We’ll choose one and break it down into manageable sections, getting it one piece at a time and at a comfortable speed for you. I’ll help you figure out any parts you’re having trouble with and offer suggestions for exercises that will help you overcome that problem. Timing, strumming, arpeggios, playing melody over chord changes, playing lead as well as rhythm guitar are all subjects we can focus on. I will also often create a custom video with supporting materials for your song specifically. I also offer ukulele lessons and I have loaner guitars and ukuleles to beginning students for a nominal fee.
The in-person lessons will often include a video which addresses specific problems you might be having and the video on this page is an example of that. You can subscribe to my video channel by clicking the “paul elwood guitar coach” logo on the lower right corner of the video.
