Guitar Lessons in Dreahook!

An example video created for a student as a useful addition to their lesson.

Private lessons for individual adults, children and teens, as well as paired lessons for spouses, siblings and parent/child!

If you are in Dreahook and interested in learning to play guitar (or learning to play better) I’m here to help! I’m in Lebanon, right over by the Cushetunk preserve, off of Old Mountain Road.

The name “Dreahook” btw, comes from the Dutch word for triangle: “Driehoek” (drie-three and hoek-corner). Interestingly enough, I’m currently working with a guitar student from the Netherlands, helping him learn a tune called “Campfire on the Prairie” (Bij het kampvuur op de prairie) and an example video made for him is on this page.

If you play a bit already, you’re probably interested in playing a particular song or songs. We’ll choose one and break it down into manageable sections, getting it one piece at a time and at a comfortable speed for you. Whether you’re interested in rock, country, folk, jazz, Americana or even Dutch tunes :-) you name it, I’ll help you figure out any parts you’re having trouble with and provide exercises that will help you overcome that problem.  Timing, strumming, arpeggios, playing melody over chord changes, playing lead as well as rhythm guitar are all subjects we can focus on. I will also often create a custom video with supporting materials for your song specifically. I also offer ukulele lessons and I offer loaner guitars and ukuleles to beginning students for a nominal fee.

The in-person lessons will often include a video aimed at helping you with any specific problems you might be having. The video on this page is an example done for a student.
