Private lessons for individual adults, children and teens, as well as paired lessons for spouses, siblings and parent/child for Bedminster!
Bedminster was settled in 1710 by Dutch, Germans, and Scots-Irish immigrants. It was named after Bedminster, then in Somerset, England, and now a district of Bristol.[22][23] Bedminster Township was created by Royal charter on April 4, 1749, from portions of the Northern precinct. It was incorporated formally by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Portions of the township were taken on March 28, 1912, to form Peapack-Gladstone.
It is known for having one of the most historic Revolutionary War sites in the United States at what is known as the Pluckemin Continental Artillery Cantonment Site, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. General Henry Knox, chief of the Continental Army artillery, was the leader responsible for building what was the country’s first military artillery training academy, the forerunner to the United States Military Academy at West Point
If you are in the Bedminster area and interested in learning to play guitar (or learning to play better) I’m here to help!
If you play a bit already, you’re probably interested in playing a particular song or songs. We’ll choose one and break it down into manageable sections, getting it one piece at a time and at a comfortable speed for you. I’ll help you figure out any parts you’re having trouble with and offer suggestions for exercises that will help you overcome that problem. Timing, strumming, arpeggios, playing melody over chord changes, playing lead as well as rhythm guitar are all subjects we can focus on. I will also often create a custom video with supporting materials for your song specifically. I also offer ukulele lessons and I have loaner guitars and ukuleles to beginning students for a nominal fee.
The in-person lessons will often include a video which addresses specific problems you might be having and the video on this page is an example of that. You can subscribe to my video channel by clicking the “paul elwood guitar coach” logo on the lower right corner of the video.
