Private guitar lessons in Potterstown for individual adults, children and teens, as well as paired lessons for spouses, siblings and parent/child!

Potterstown is an unincorporated community along the border of Clinton and Readington townships in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. Potterstown once was home to taverns, a blacksmith, a store house, a wheelwright and a pottery shop which gave the hamlet its name. It is along an old Raritan Path and on the Jersey Turnpike. Robert Livingston, James Alexander, his son Lord Stirling and John Stevens all owned land here at some time. John Taylor, an officer with the Hunterdon 4th Militia built a house and mill, which was used during the Revolutionary War to provide soldiers with food.

If you are in the Potterstown area and interested in learning to play guitar (or learning to play better) I’m here to help! I’m right over by the Cushetunk preserve, off of Old Mountain Road.

If you play a bit already, you’re probably interested in playing a particular song or songs. We’ll choose one together and break it down into manageable sections, getting it one piece at a time and at a comfortable speed. I’ll help you figure out any parts you’re having trouble with and offer suggestions for exercises that will help you improve quickly.  Timing, strumming, arpeggios, playing melody over chord changes, playing lead as well as rhythm guitar are all subjects we can focus on. I will also often create a custom video and supporting materials for your song specifically.

I also offer ukulele lessons and I have loaner guitars and ukuleles for beginning students, available for a nominal fee.

The in-person lessons will often include a video which addresses specific problems you might be having and the video on this page is an example of that:
